PHILOSOPHY ON EDUCATION
Kindergarten Students and students from Grades 1-6 are part of the PYP*. The programme focuses on the total growth of the developing child affecting hearts as well as minds in addressing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs in addition to academic welfare. The framework is designed for students between the ages of 3 and 12 years, English and non-English. The framework is to provide for the development of the whole child, inside and outside the classroom.
THE KINDERGARTEN INFORMATION:
KG1 is for children aged 3.5+ years.
KG2 is for children aged 4.5+ years.
There are four classes in KG 2 and four classes in KG 1 (total of 150 children on roll). School day in the kindergarten starts at 7:30 am with the assembly in the hall. During the first break, a healthy and varied meal is given to the children. Afterwards they have some free play time until the second teaching session which lasts until the end of the school day at 12:30 pm.
It is based on six organizing themes which provide the structure for exploration and knowledge. The themes are as follows:-
PARENT / TEACHER COMMUNICATION:
We believe that it's important for teachers to have active relationships with parents. We believe that parents who are actively involved in the KG and with what their children are learning will benefit the students and their development. We also believe that the child's family is their first teacher. Our job is to create a link between home and school.
